In this episode, Sarah and Sando had the pleasure of chatting with Karen Draper, a red-headed & red lipstick wearing writer who recently published her first book, “The Place of Us.” When you interview a writer (and a really good one at that) it’s hard not to use their own writing skills in the interview description. So without further ado Karen writes, “This book is a love song to my husband and children. It is a declaration of rights for children with disabilities and the parents who love and care for them. A testament to the power of one and the collective voice of many. An acknowledgement of a wondrously diverse community we were blessed to know. A consideration of humankind. And from a mother’s perspective — a grief anthem.” Join us for this heartfelt, authentic, and timely chat about love and loss. Karen’s strength and courage is awe inspiring and her words have the ability to give one pause and comfort simultaneously. Even though we had to do this interview virtually, we both felt like we got a warm hug after we ended the chat. May the words and storytelling bring you comfort when hugs can’t. Stay well friends ❤️
